Vaccine series, deworming, microchipping, and a nutrition plan for your new pet.
Welcome to your pet's first year
The first months set the tone for your pet's entire life. We'll guide you through every milestone — from the first vaccine to the spay or neuter visit, and everything in between.
Vaccine series
Puppies and kittens need a series of boosters starting at 6–8 weeks, repeated every 3–4 weeks until they're about 16 weeks old. We'll build a schedule that fits your pet and remind you when each visit is due.
Deworming and parasite prevention
Most puppies and kittens are born with intestinal parasites. We deworm at every early visit and start year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention as soon as your pet is old enough.
Microchipping
A rice-grain-sized chip placed under the skin is a permanent ID for your pet. We typically place it during the spay or neuter visit while your pet is comfortably under anesthesia.
Nutrition and behavior
We'll talk about choosing the right food, portion sizes, house training, socialization, and what to expect as your pet grows. Bring questions — there are no silly ones.
Spay or neuter timing
For most pets, we recommend spaying or neutering between 5 and 9 months. We'll discuss the best timing based on your pet's breed and lifestyle.
