Why spay and neuter?

Spaying and neutering prevents unwanted litters, eliminates the risk of certain reproductive cancers, and reduces behaviors like roaming, marking, and aggression.

When to schedule the procedure

For most dogs and cats, we recommend spaying or neutering between 5 and 9 months of age. Larger dog breeds may benefit from waiting until skeletal maturity — we'll talk through what's right for your pet.

What to expect

The day before, we'll ask you to withhold food after a certain time. Your pet stays with us for the day. We perform pre-anesthetic bloodwork, place an IV catheter for safety, and monitor vitals throughout the procedure.

Pain management is built in

Every spay and neuter includes a multi-modal pain plan — local nerve blocks, injectable pain medication, and oral medication to take home. Your pet will be comfortable.

Recovery at home

Most pets are back to normal within a few days. We'll send you home with detailed instructions, a recovery cone, and a follow-up check at 10–14 days.
